In The Land, the holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. Expect over-the-top holiday decorating, ridiculously ugly sweaters, leg lamp displays, Christmas ale imbibing and, of course, light displays so bright that we’re sure they can be seen from space.
Doggone it, you’re not going to find a city as crazy about dogs as Cleveland. After all, our wildest sports fans are known as the “Dawg Pound” and our NBA mascot is “Moon Dog.” Call us the “pup-erazzi,” but Clevelanders are always looking out for the best places to take good boys and girls — just ask any of our pup influencers, including Gohan Garrett (whose human dad is Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett).
Bark up all the right trees in The Land’s thousands of acres of parks filled with paths to walk, squirrels to pursue and territories to mark. Chow down with your humans at a pack of dog-friendly restaurants (and leave a little huskier). Grab a drink (no, not from the toilet) from any number of pro-pooch pubs and breweries across CLE. Then, curl up in one of many pet-friendly howl-tels.
As soon as your paws touch down in Cleveland, you’re going to love it here — fur sure. So, get out there and dig up your own Tails of The Land.
“The people are the best part of Cleveland — very humble and friendly. Also, there are so many beautiful places to explore (from spring to fall). And don’t just go to parks that are in the city, because they are plenty of other amazing nature trails 30 minutes outside of the city!”
“I love walking my human all through Downtown Cleveland, especially the Flats! It’s easy to walk around and everyone loves to pet me and tell me how handsome I am! Some would say I am a chick magnet.”
“Nano Brew in Ohio City is my favorite dog-friendly bar in Cleveland because they always give me sooo many treats! And I love to go to Edgewater Beach! I love to sit on the big swings and watch all the people and the dogs and the kids and the waves.”
“My favorite place to chase squirrels is Lincoln Park in Tremont. Two of my favorite dog-friendly bars are Flying Monkey and Terrestrial Brewing.”
“First-time dog visitor to Cleveland? Then, you’d better enjoy the Cleveland Metroparks. It is one of our best assets!”
“My favorite dog-friendly bar in Cleveland has got to be TownHall in Ohio City. They have a great doggo menu. Highly recommend!”
“I’m visiting from Cincinnati. So, one piece of advice I’d give to another dog traveling to Cleveland is to make sure your human wears sneakers! It’s a great walkable city with plenty to see.”
“During the summer, I love walking my human to Edgewater Beach. This is where kids and other dogs (and not mention all the ladies) talk about how cute I am. They even take pictures with me. Then, on the way home, I drag my human to Mason’s Creamery so I can cool off with a delicious ‘puppy cup.’”
