The perfect balance between the hot summer sun and cold winter snow, autumn in Cleveland is such a beautiful time of year. From our award-winning Cleveland Metroparks to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, there’s no shortage of opportunities to experience reds, oranges and yellows of the changing leaves. But the wonder of this city is you don’t have to go far to FALL in love with The Land. Check just a few of the ways you can do Fall in Cleveland without even leaving Downtown.
1. Enjoy the changing leaves with a hike or bike ride along the Towpath Trail
Nothing beats seeing the scenic views of fall colors along the Cuyahoga River and the Flats. The Towpath Trail is the perfect place to hop on your bike, go for a walk or jog, and soak up all of the amazing natural beauty this extensive trail network has to offer.
2. Shop at a local business for fall décor
Downtown is home to a variety of local small businesses to stock up on cute fall décor, gifts and trinkets. Two personal favorites are located in the 5th Street Arcades — Gems Boutique (stylish home décor, clothing and accessories) and Revy (fair trade accessories and gifts).
3. Treat yourself to a fall-themed snack or drink
Whether you prefer espresso, beer or a sweet treat, there’s no shortage of delicious fall-themed treats to enjoy. Sip on a Warm Latte from Rising Star Coffee Roasters, toast with a Southern Tier Brewing Company Cinnamon Roll Imperial Ale, and indulge in a Maple Bacon (or other fall/spooky season-themed) donut from Brewnuts, just a short bike ride from Downtown.
4. See a concert or show at one of Downtown’s entertainment venues
Beloved places like House of Blues and Playhouse Square are popular for their live performances, and fall is the perfect time to take advantage of these incredible Downtown staples. Be sure to check out their upcoming schedules and attend some of the great performances and acts coming soon.
5. Relax with some sweater weather patio dining/drinks
Fall is still such a beautiful season in Cleveland, and many restaurants continue to offer patio dining and outdoor spaces to make the most of it before days turn cold and nights turn long. Put on your favorite sweater or stylish light jacket, order a delicious meal or a handcrafted cocktail, and support one of Downtown’s many amazing restaurants while dining al fresco.
