This generational 25-acre project will connect downtown and Cleveland neighborhoods to the Cuyahoga River, Lake Erie and beyond, bringing together people, nature, industry and history in an inclusive, accessible green space that preserves riverfront land and enhances community health. A multipurpose trail will provide the missing link between the 101-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and Lake Erie. Accessible through Ohio City and overlooking downtown’s Columbus Peninsula, hillside stabilization is nearly complete, with trail construction beginning in spring 2026 and Irishtown Bend Park features added in subsequent years. The trail is expected to be completed in 2027, with the park following in 2029.
