When it comes to education, families in The Land have some great options. For the 2023 school year, there are 347 schools serving 159,143 students in Cuyahoga County. The top three school districts in Ohio (Solon, Rocky River and Chagrin Falls) are all located within the Greater Cleveland region. In Cleveland alone, graduation rates rose 29 percentage points to 80.9% between 2012–2020. The "Say Yes Cleveland" program has seen 49% of students enrolled in college within a year of graduation, adding to the rolls of the 25+ higher education institutions in the region that turn out 40,000 graduates annually.
Sustainability
Cleveland takes sustainability seriously. In fact, the first "Cleveland Climate Action Plan" (launched in 2013) resulted in reduced carbon pollution, improved water and air quality and over 70 miles of bike infrastructure installed, with special recognitions for the city’s efforts supporting solar and wind energy.
In 2017, after the U.S. pulled out of the "Paris Climate Agreement," Cleveland joined 400 other cities in a coalition to foster climate leadership through meaningful action in their cities.
