Celebrate a bit of local history at the site of Brookside Stadium in the neighborhood’s southeast corner. This natural amphitheater, located in the small part of Brookside Reservation that peeks up into the Stockyards, was once an amateur sports hotspot. Cleveland was a sports town from the very start. Back in 1915, the park smashed attendance records with a crowd of 115,000 for an amateur baseball championship. The community hopes to someday redevelop Brookside Stadium in honor of its proud past.
The rest of Brookside Reservation, in all her natural splendor and beauty, lies just a short walk to the south. On the other end of the neighborhood, the Michael Zone Recreation Center sits a small distance outside the northern borders.
