Opened in 2005 as a key component of the Idea Center at Playhouse Square, the 300-seat Westfield Studio Theatre is a highly flexible “black box” space with performance and television broadcast capabilities: collapsible and portable seating systems, specialized flooring, and dual lighting systems for theater/TV. It is one of the largest production studios in Ohio. The Idea Center was established through the partnership between Playhouse Square and Ideastream Public Media to create a broadcast and education facility.
Playhouse Square is a cornerstone of Cleveland’s cultural identity, hosting more than 1000 performances annually – from Broadway hits and concerts to comedy and special events. Playhouse Square is home to eight resident companies and 12 venues. Free public tours off a behind-the-scenes look at the district’s rich history, architecture and vibrant legacy. Its theaters and elegant lobbies are also available for private rentals, making it a standout venue for planners seeking a memorable space.
Playhouse Square delivers unforgettable experiences in a grand and inspiring setting.
