After over a decade of cooking in professional kitchens, completing culinary school at Johnson and Wales University, and falling in love with making fresh pasta; Cleveland Heights native, Peter Reuter, decided to share his talents with the world and opened his first restaurant: Scorpacciata Pasta Company. By definition, Scorpacciata means to eat locally, abundantly, and in season; and that's exactly what our mission is. With high quality ingredients provided by regional farms and businesses, the Pasta Company's everchanging menu offers a complex, yet mutually enjoyable selection of fresh, seasonally inspired pasta dishes and salads.
After the overwhelmingly positive response to the Pasta Shop, Reuter set out to fill the undeniable void facing our home of the Van Aken Market Hall: pizza. Scorpacciata Pizza, lives up to the 'Scorpacciata' name by serving up delicious 'Cleveland Style' pies made with only the best local ingredients. Our style of pizza is best described as a hybrid between New York and Neapolitan styles.
As Scorpacciata continues to grow, we've begun utilizing a commissary kitchen in the coveted Cedar-Lee neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. This space opens the door to provide catering services, hosting private events, and fulfilling family style orders. In addition, this space will serve as a 'ghost kitchen' from which we will sell pizza and salads. This location will be best for bulk pizza orders, while the Market Hall will continue fulfilling smaller orders and serving up slices.
Scorpacciata prides itself on being a scratch kitchen, making everything from meatballs and sausage to tiramisu, from slow-cooked marinara and tasty salad dressings to fresh pasta and dough for pizza using our own dough starter. With two of our kitchens located in the lively, communal environment of The Van Aken District; we're happy to slow things down by cooking everything to order, ensuring you're getting the freshest most delicious food possible.
