Chef Michael Nowak is a twenty-year veteran of the Cleveland restaurant scene. From the beginning of his career as a busboy and dishwasher to working with some of Cleveland’s top chefs, Michael has been immersed in Cleveland dining. He opened his first restaurant, The Black Pig, in Ohio City in 2012. He has brought thoughtfully prepared, European-focused cuisine to the neighborhood for years. Now he brings you Poca Casual Mexican.
Using the same high standard of quality sourcing that Michael is known for, Poca features fresh ingredients, thoughtfully sourced. Poca features the bright flavors of Mexico, focusing on authentic preparations. Poca brings together Michael’s long-time love of Mexican food with the traditional flavors and preparations he has researched on his travels to Oaxaca. All dishes from simple salsas, to braised meats, to fresh corn tortillas is prepared from scratch. Poca focuses on bringing authentic ingredients, preparations, and flavor combinations in nontraditional presentations to Ohio City.
*Poca sources from small family farms in Ohio, whenever possible. Due to their traditional use of corn masa, the entire menu is gluten free.
