La Bodega opened as a true bodega – a corner store, more than 15 years ago. Supplying apples and toilet paper to the neighborhood soon became a secondary business as the store’s legendary sandwich menu became increasingly popular. With creative entrepreneurs Mike Weigand and Jeff Eisenberg at the helm, the sandwich and salad menu grew to encompass more than 60 items, including crowd-pleasers like the #45 (spicy turkey and bacon sub) and the #27 (turkey, smoked gouda and alfalfa sprouts); as well as more eclectic offerings like the #32 (curry chicken wrap) and the #38 (ham, brie and grilled pineapple).
