Not far from the shores of Lake Erie, off State Route 83 in Avon Lake, Ohio, you’ll find the Klingshirn family farm and winery. Established in 1935 by Albert and Theresa Klingshirn, their Concord grape vineyards have been the mainstay crop for the first fifty-years producing local wine favorites like Concord, Niagara and Pink Catawba.
Albert’s grandson, Lee, graduated from the Ohio State University in 1986 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Viticulture and Enology. Lee, the third-generation operator, is now the primary winemaker and works with his wife, Nancy, to continue the tradition. Each man has contributed to the winery in distinct ways and has helped to create the business that is Klingshirn Winery today. Get to know Klingshirn Wine by sampling our winning wines. We entered 12 wines, and brought home 12 medals in state completion in 2024.
Gold medals for Haut Sauterne, Pink Catawba and Sweet Concord.
Silver medals for Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Franc, Vidal Blanc, Golden Chablis, Chambourcin and Niagara.
Bronze medals for Home Run Red, Cardinal Delight and Catawba.
