The Bop Stop Experience
Located in the Hingetown district of Ohio City, Bop Stop is a jazz club showcasing up-and-coming acts in a variety of genres. It's in a one-of-a-kind location, featuring tiered seating and an open floor plan, so there's not a bad seat in the house. Also, check out the windows facing Lake Erie and feel those wavy vibes as you groove.
Bop Stop promptly opens one hour before showtime, so arrive early for the bombastic bar and supreme snacks. Kitchen service begins 30 minutes before each performance and continues throughout the evening.
As an added bonus, parking is free. Check out Bop Stop's calendar for all upcoming performances.
The History of Bop Stop
Bop Stop is a non-profit organization that focuses solely on the benefits of live music of multiple genres, especially jazz, where a diverse group of artists can create their art and perform in a safe atmosphere. Donated to The Music Settlement in 2013, the establishment has since invested all their time into programs like music therapy, musical instruction and early childhood development with live music and instruments.
A Commitment to the Arts
Any artist, of any discipline, is welcome at Bop Stop regardless if they're a musician, chef or painter. The Music Settlement partners with Cleveland Culinary Launch and Kitchen to showcase local chefs and food. They're more than happy to feature artwork from local artists as well. Bop Stop has an unapologetically supportive artistic culture.
Besides that, they set time aside to do music therapy sessions for those dealing with troubling diagnoses that need additional support. Not only do they provide help for those in need, but they also hold early childhood and preschool courses that allow little ones to experience exceptional music, movement and art experiences.
