If you’re like us, you’re a fan of world class local festivals and biological spectacle.
You’ll get both at the annual Twins Days Festival, which has grown into the world's largest gathering of twins since launching all the way back in 1976. Taking place in (where else?) Twinsburg, the weekend-long fest gives multiples and their families a chance to shine - via a talent show, lookalike contests, a parade, recreation options and live entertainment.
Double Your Fun
It shouldn’t shock you when we say, you’re going to see lots and lots of twins, as well as the occasional set of triplets. Heck, you may even stumble upon some quadruplets, which are basically twin twins. Recent years have seen over 2,000 pairs register for the weekend-long festivities - with more multiples attending unofficially, just for fun.
Each year's festival has a theme, and costumes are encouraged, which can lead to some “wildly” creative twin spins on pop culture totems. This year’s theme – “Welcome 2 the Jungle” - encourages their multiple sibling attendees to come dressed as their favorite jungle animals, dinosaurs or wilderness adventurers.
No Need to Close One Eye, Your Vision is Fine
There's no other place on earth where twins can find so many other sibling pairs who understand their unique life experiences - as well as the pros and cons of being a twin. That’s what makes getting together for events like the famed Double Take Parade, Twins Talent Show, fireworks and a Twins Day 5k (it’s just a 5k, not a 10k) like nothing you’ll experience anywhere else.
You can also hit up theTwinsburg Historical Society, which gives visitors an inside look at local lore, or help out scientists and researchers, who often use Twins Day as a way to find subjects willing to help bolster their important academic work.
