America's godd time music is back with three days of the finest Cleveland-Style and Slovenian polka and waltz music. Enjoy top bands and talents shareing the spotlight in all-star jam sessions. Thrill to the Polka Music Awards Show spectacular. Thanksgiving Polka Weekend is the grandest musical experience in town.
Dance to your favorite bands form Friday afternoon until midnight. Begin your Saturday afternoon with the Polka Mass, then stay for more polka music throughout the evening. Pack your squeezebox and join Button Box Jam, while the Vadnal Tribute brings back memories. Music starts bright and early Sunday, so get in a few spins on the dance floor.
Featured entertainers include include Grammy-winners Walter Ostanek and Joey Miskulin, plus Hall of Famers Del Sinchak and Jeff and John Pecon, along with Garrett Tatano, Bob Zolka, Klancnik and Friends, and Linda Lee Brown.
The gala Polka Music Awards show returns Sunday afternoon with a full stage orchestra and salutes to the newest legends entering the Polka Hall of Fame. Lifetime achievers are bandleader Joe Kusar, musicians Bill Srnick Sr. and Rudy Kershishnik, plus the Penn Ohio Polka Pals social group. The Board of Trustees adds six names to the Polka Hall of Fame Honor Roll, Bill Bevec, Al Hreno, Eddie Korosa Jr., Bill Srnick Jr., and Chris and Gary Byndas.
Two beloved All-Time Cleveland-Style Hits were also chosen by Polka Hall of Fame members. “The Little Café Waltz” and “Smile, Sweetheart, Smile” were early recordings by the late Cleveland bandleader, Frank Yankovic, America’s Polka King. The weekend is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
