The Holden Arboretum, part of Holden Forests & Gardens along with the Cleveland Botanical Garden, will feature plant selections from dozens of area nurseries, gardens and Holden’s own propagated and grown wildflowers at their annual Plant Sale. The popular event, which also includes plant and soil experts and tool sharpening, is held from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, May 19 & Sunday, May 20, 2018, with a members-only preview on Friday, May 18 from noon to 6pm. A wide selection of perennials, annuals, herbs and woody plants will be available for sale from local nurseries and gardens, including Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, Halle Bros. Geranium, The Shady Nook, Auburn Pointe Greenhouse and more. Local garden clubs such as the Garden Club of Kirtland, Dahlia Society of Ohio and Midwest Cactus & Succulent Society will also be on hand. Plant and soil experts, such as the Lake County Master Gardeners, will be available for free consultations. Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists (OCVN) will be featuring extensive information on invasive plants and suggested alternatives for backyard makeovers. Guests are also invited to bring their garden tools for a professional blade sharpening for a nominal fee. Food and beverage concessions are available for purchase by Chefs for Hire, Bakers Rack and local Boy Scout Troop 165. This event is free for members, with a special reduced gate admission of $5 for nonmembers. Murch Canopy Walk and Kalberer Emergent Tower tickets are $4 per nonmember adult and $2 per nonmember child, weather permitting. This event will take place rain or shine.
