FACT: The films at the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) are definitely not your average multi-million-dollar blockbusters shown at big-box suburban cinemaplexes on any given Saturday night. Instead, you’re exposed to everything from documentaries covering humanitarian issues and blocks of hilarious 10-minute shorts to foreign flicks and even films screened in virtual reality. The theme for CIFF's 44th installment is "See Beyond," a nod to exploring new and different places, ideas and conventions. A sentiment that couldn't be more perfect, given the vast array of films you'll experience over the course of two weeks.
It all happens March 25 – April 5 in the heart of Downtown Cleveland at Tower City Cinemas.
From the ever-expanding and mind-blowing offering of the "Perspectives" virtual reality showcase, to Neighborhood Screenings at east- and west-side theater locations, the Cleveland International Film Festival is a massive event that’s esteemed by film industry insiders and loved by locals. Get the 411 on all the festival has to offer by visiting ClevelandFilm.org and checking out transportation and nearby entertainment/food options.
Want to stay overnight? Good call. Check out hotel package information here.
Stay tuned for when tickets go on sale this March. Tickets go on sale to the general public March 13 at 11 a.m. at ClevelandFilm.org or through the Film Festival Box Office.
