Winter Music + Arts Festival
There’s only one thing the world disses Cleveland for more than our sports teams, and that’s the weather — especially our winter weather. Do we Clevelanders sulk over such nonsense? Nah.
In fact, as it turns out, one of the city’s most hotly (get it?) anticipated events every year is a FREE outdoor music and arts festival that we hold in — you guessed it — February.
Sure, that’s an easy irony to point out for a chuckle, but if you attend the annual Brite Winter festival on the West Bank of the Flats, you’ll understand.
This year marks Brite Winter’s 10th anniversary and the promise of a kick-ass music festival that’s totally worth checking out. Just ask the 20,000+ festivalgoers who attend the free festival each year.
More than 30 national and local bands, DJs and solo artists will play Brite’s six indoor and outdoor stages from 3 p.m. until after midnight.
In 2019, the headliner is indie-pop band Smallpools. Check out the full music line-up here.
Brite Winter is a full-service, summer-style music and arts festival that just so happens to carry the threat of a few flurries. But who cares, really, when there’s local craft beer (duh), multiple bonfires, heated tents and something called a “cocktail igloo?”
And there’s more! There’s ice carving, S’mores fire pits, food trucks, art installations and artisan works created by local craftsmen.
Oh, did we mention admission is FREE? That, too. Learn more here.

So now that we’ve determined that you are, in fact, going, here are the details:
The 10th annual Brite Winter festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 23 on the West Bank of the Flats. There will be shuttles running back and forth to the festival along West 25th Street in Ohio City.
Admission is free but the beer and food is not — still, it’s an affordable day and evening out.
The festival has been held at temperatures as low as 8 degrees and as high as 69. But, let’s be honest, this is Cleveland. Plan on it being chilly. That’s half the fun.
So pack your parka and mittens; it’s time to party. Learn more at BriteWinter.com.
