Cleveland comes alive in summer. Patios get packed, the lake is teeming with boats and beachgoers, and everything is a great excuse for a festival.
The best part is, there are a ton of free things to do as everyone pours outside to take part in the revelry. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Beaches
East side, west side, Downtown — Lake Erie has beaches just begging to be lounged on. From Edgewater Park to Euclid Beach to Huntington Beach, you can rest assured that you're never too far from a lake view. Why not even take a day trip to Lake Erie Shores & Islands where you can spend the day island hopping.
Rock Hall Live
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame keeps Cleveland jamming with free live music events in the plaza all summer long. Check them out here.

The Great Outdoors
Get out and get active. Bike, hike, fish, swim or even go geocaching around the 18 Cleveland Metroparks reservations or within the 33,000 acres that make up the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Playgrounds
Take the kiddos to some incredible playgrounds around town, including Preston’s H.O.P.E., Lakewood Park and those within the Cleveland Metroparks.
