History hasn't always been easy on us. But pressure can create diamonds. Come check out our gems.
The 2021 NFL Draft is in Cleveland, where we’re rocking the clock April 29 – May 1 right on the shore of Lake Erie and right next to FirstEnergy Stadium, the gameday home of our Cleveland Browns.
If you’re thinking of heading to Cleveland for the first time to witness your team’s future live and in-person, we’re betting you’re looking for some help planning your day. Consider this your own personal itinerary for Draft weekend.
Great spots for football history, fun things to do during the day, delicious eats and cold brews await you in The Land.

Across the street from the legendary “A Christmas Story” house, The Rowley Inn has been serving the Tremont neighborhood since 1906, when it catered to steelworkers heading to and leaving the mill. Newly renovated and boasting a delicious new menu, start with some Bacon-Wrapped Tots, then move onto the Breakfast Poutine or the Pierogi Omelet. After, head outside for selfies in front of the “major award” glowing in the window.
Every fan’s bucket list includes a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton to explore NFL history in the city where pro football was born. “Head” to the gallery to view the busts of over 300 legends of the game and interact with the new talking busts of John Madden and Michael Strahan. But what about the new Paul E. Brown Museum & Archive in the nearby Massillon Museum? After all, he built the Browns franchise from the ground — and name — up. Stop by MassMu after the Hall of Fame to learn more about the best football coach of all time. At least in our humble opinion.
Heading back north, grab a bite — and a drink — at Winking Lizard Tavern in Independence. Sure, they offer a full menu of sandwiches, salads, burgers, wings and pizza, but the real draw is their staggering beer and whiskey lists. Don’t forget to raise a glass to Pickles, the bar’s resident iguana.
Looking to start your Draft weekend off with a positive message? Head over to Progressive Field for the Cleveland Power of Sport Summit (April 29 – May 1), a showcase of local and national organizations that are utilizing their voices to address topics related to adaptive sports, gender equity, LGBTQIA+ athletes, mental health, racial equity, and more. The goals of the Cleveland Power of Sport Summit are to allow attendees to EXPLORE new ideas, EMBRACE differences, and ENACT positive change in the communities they represent. Enjoy three days of speakers, activities, workshops and exhibits all for free. Reserve your tickets today.
Stay right in the Gateway District - home of Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse – and post up at The Clevelander, a frequent pregame oasis for Cleveland sports fans. Chow down on either The Bernie Bernie (named after beloved QB Bernie Kosar and topped with grilled pastrami and a fried egg) or The Muni-Lot (a mushroom-swiss burger named for another pregame hotspot for Browns fans).
Welcome to Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft! FINALLY! Will a record five QBs get drafted in the top 10? Will the Patriots move up to grab their Brady replacement? Head down lakeside to the NFL Draft Experience for all the action as it unfolds. Participatory games and clinics on the field (try to win that bet with your buddy by kicking a field goal in FirstEnergy Stadium), virtual autograph sessions with NFL players, photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and so much more await you at this unrivaled football fan fest.
The Draft Experience will run all three days of the draft. A timed entry ticket must be reserved through the NFL OnePass app, so be sure to plan ahead to fully experience one of the most exciting nights of the football year. If you see any Browns fans, say hi. We’re a pretty friendly bunch and pretty excited to be picking so late this year (humblebrag alert).
Your night’s not complete without a trip to Vault at The 9. Where else can you sip a handcrafted cocktail in century-old bank vaults? Seriously, the lounge theme is just immaculate.

Take a short trip down Superior Avenue to Cleveland’s Asiatown district, where you’ll find one of the newest additions to the brunch scene, Yonder Brunch & Vibes. A menu full of fresh and hearty fare awaits, whether you dive into a stack of colorful Fruity Pebbles Killa French Toast, The Yonder breakfast sammy (bacon, egg, avocado and caramelized onions) with a side of Smashed Potatoes or the sweet and savory Chicken N Waffles.
Visit the ultimate homage to rock music: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This multi-level, interactive museum will take you through the history and evolution of rock music. Make sure to block off a few hours to get the full experience and really rock out to videos, interactive kiosks, and some righteous tunes. Oh, did we menton the NFL collaborated with them on a new exhibit called "The Bigest Show on Turf: 55 Years of Halftime Shows" celebrating some of the Super Bowl's greatest performances? And yes, Katy Perry's "Left Shark" is there.
East 4th Street is one alley you need to see, especially if you’re looking to lunch. Some of Cleveland's most celebrated restaurants and entertainment hubs pepper this pedestrian-only street, including Chef Michael Symon's celebrated barbeque joint Mabel's BBQ, beer emporium Butcher & the Brewer (try the chorizo tacos), pints and Irish fare aplenty at Flannery's Pub and indoor/outdoor bistro dining (and bowling!) at Corner Alley.
In a lot of ways, the Draft is a gamble; teams place bets on players and hope they get lucky and nab a Pro Bowler. If you’re feeling lucky, head to JACK Cleveland Casino to place some bets of your own. Choose from close to 100 table games like Blackjack, Baccarat, Texas Hold ‘Em and more, or saddle up to over 800 slots or nearly 90 video poker machines. All this gaming glory is housed inside Cleveland’s beautiful and historic Higbee Building.
The draft will start again soon, but after all that gambling doesn’t a steak sound really good right about now? You are smack dab in the middle of a whole “herd” of great options, whether you choose the opulent and historic dining of Marble Room Steaks & Raw Bar or the chic and modern styling of Red, The Steakhouse. You think we’d “steer” you wrong? (…I’ll see myself out.)
Let’s do it again. Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft kick off at 7 p.m. If tonight isn’t the night for your timed entry to the Draft Experience, why not kick back with a cold brew and watch the Draft from one of our amazing patios. Check out our Clean Committed page for information on the program and a directory of businesses that have made a commitment to employing safe practices, so you can enjoy that beer worry free.
Time for a jaunt to the Velvet Tango Room in Ohio City. A dimly lit, slightly mysterious cocktail bar in Tremont, every cocktail is made completely fresh from scratch by experienced mixologists and well worth the wait. You’ll need a reso if you’re looking to score a seat in the back room.

Located near the iconic Playhouse Square theater district, Yours Truly is a Cleveland institution. Open early morning to late night, it’s breakfast anytime here and the bar is full service. Try a yummy Killit Skillet, AM Wrap or Eggs Bruschetta. Don’t leave without hammering their famous Notso fries: cottage fries smothered in melted cheese, chopped bacon and sour cream.
Draft Day Three kicks off and with it, the final four rounds and the crowning of Mr. Irrelevant 2021. Can you believe it’s almost over already? Time flies when you’re rocking the clock!
Sure, the future stars of your favorite NFL team have been on display during the NFL Draft, but we think one body of water near and dear to our hearts may steal the show. We take a lot of pride in our beloved Lake Erie, so why not get better acquainted? Head down to Edgewater Park, where Edgewater Beach and the surrounding Lakefront Reservation will provide hours of fun and relaxation, whether you’re throwing the football around or checking out the Edgewater Fishing Pier.
Take a late afternoon pub crawl in Ohio City along West 25th Street and sample a few of Cleveland’s signature beers. Start next door to the West Side Market at Market Garden Brewery for any of their 14 beers on tap and savory small plates. Then head across the street to Great Lakes Brewing Co. for a pint of their award-winning Dortmunder Gold, football-inspired Cleveland Brown Ale or 73 Kolsch (brewed in concert with future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas). Wrap up at Nano Brew, with its three bars and two-story patio complete with larger-than-life games like Jenga and Connect Four.
If you want to wrap up three days in Cleveland like a pro, the best spot is the Flats East Bank, a newly revived area of Downtown nightlife legend that's built-up with brand new cocktail bars, craft breweries, unique eateries and a swath of outdoor patios. Start at Punch Bowl Social for billiards, bowling, shuffleboard and a literal bowl of (spiked) punch. Then hit up The Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar to sing all your faves at the top of your lungs. End the night with a cocktail and a delicious late-night menu on the patio at Lago East Bank.
This is Cleveland. We hope you had a blast at the 2021 NFL Draft and come back soon, whether or not your team is playing our Browns. Yes, it’s always this fun.
