5 Places to Play in the Leaves and Pick Apples in Cleveland

There’s Fall Fun to be Found Throughout The Land

If you’re in Cleveland in the fall, boy are you in luck. Sure, there’s a ton to do in and around Downtown with no shortage of restaurants, bars (it is football season after all) and events to take in; but you also can experience a little bit of that autumn country life just a short drive from the city. Take a look at a few of the places for Cleveland apple picking, pumpkin perusing or just staring at an endless horizon of autumn color in The Land.

Mapleside Farms

Looking for fall festivities that change by the week? The Pumpkin Village at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick is calling your name! Take a scenic hayride or whiz down a 311-foot “super slide” (the longest in America), then pick up some caramel apples, apple pie or fresh doughnuts to savor later.

Patterson Fruit Farm

Head to Chesterland to pick your own Gala and McIntosh varieties in the orchards, or snag some fresh apple cider and pie at the on-site farm market. Starting September 13 through November 2, the Family Fun Fest offers quintessential fall activities with wagon rides, a corn maze, slides and much more.

Pickering Hill Farms

Keep it fresh and local with a visit to Avon’s Pickering Hill Farms — a family-run farm and market that keeps it “a little bit country” amid suburbia. Their array of Amish meats, cheeses, jams and butters will have you bypassing your nearest grocery store and stocking your shelves with the real deal.

Amish Country

Amish Country is the fall attraction in Northeast Ohio. Experience the best of the simple life with a tasting at Broad Run Cheesehouse, a shopping spree at the Antique shops and a leisurely drive through the scenic Middlefield or Millersburg areas. Did we mention the foliage is beautiful?

Fall Foliage

Speaking of foliage, Cleveland is actually known as “The Forest City.” Providing an up-close view of nature changing before your eyes, the Cleveland Metroparks earned their 2021 “Best Park in the Nation” title with 18 picturesque reservations and 100+ hiking trails. And down at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, fall colors frame breathtaking landmarks like Brandywine Falls.
