Celebrated fashion designer Amanda Wicker started the Clarke School of Dressmaking and Design in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood with just one student—and grew a community from there.Honor this influential Black mentor’s six-decade career with this Cleveland History Center exhibit showcasing 15 garments, along with photos and other relics.
Trace the impact of a group of queer Chicanx artists in Los Angeles from the late 1960s through the early 90s—spanning the Chicanx civil rights, gay liberation and feminist movements. This collaborative and inclusive exhibit at moCa Cleveland showcases a wide array of mediums, including paintings, photos, fashion and performance art.
