Nicole Wloszek-Therens is a multimedia storyteller with a passion for community-centered stories. Through words in the columns of a print publication, as a voice over the radio waves, or on online forums and blogs in her role of Content Intern with Destination Cleveland, she’s grateful for any opportunity to amplify voices and celebrate diverse perspectives.
Nicole is a recent graduate of Cleveland State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minors in broadcasting and digital content creation. With this foundation, she’s motivated to explore work that exists at the intersection of visual storytelling and written journalism. She has worked in editorial roles at student publications at CSU, behind the camera at live events around Cleveland and on college radio as the host of Odd Girl Hour on WCSB 89.3 FM, now XCSB Alternative Media.
In her role as Content Intern at Destination Cleveland, Nicole’s goal is to craft meaningful stories that highlight the city’s creativity and resilience, and to support Destination Cleveland’s mission to spotlight the city’s weird and wonderful. As a Cleveland native whose been molded, educated and inspired by The Land, she feels most fulfilled when doing work that reinvests in the community that shaped her.
