Cindy Hill knows gems. When she moved to Cleveland in 1986, she was dazzled by Lake Erie’s sparkle and Cleveland’s emerald necklace of Metroparks. Her favorite adventure was exploring areas locals told her to avoid. By foot, rail or bike, she found surprises in every neighborhood – and a juicy story to go with it.
Hill began writing in 1994, specializing in curriculum and later, in parenting resources, as she raised her family. She co-created NASA’s “Cleveland’s History Through the Message of Starlight,” a time travel guide for stargazers for the Cleveland Bicentennial, now stored in Cleveland’s time capsule.
Over the years, Hill’s enjoyed many innovative writing projects for NASA Glenn, Destination Cleveland, Adcom Group, and Help Me Grow. Now she’s writing stories for Fresh Water Cleveland and Wish Cleveland, who spotlight Cleveland change makers. In her spare time, she’s a paddler, musician, theater patron, latin dancer and foodie – in other words, as diverse as Cleveland residents. An empty nester, now, Hill hasn’t moved back to either coast where her family lives. Her favorite coast is still the North Coast – it’s a treasure mine.
The Best Part
“I love Cleveland’s writing and reading community, who are helping get ‘More Lit in The Land.’”
