Meet artist and community member Héctor Castellanos Lara at the Community Arts Center. In partnership with the Mexican Committee of Cleveland, guests are invited to learn the art and history of making sawdust carpets, or tapetes, for the Day of the Dead. Explore the hands-on technique of creating designs with sawdust and other natural materials. Assist the artist in assembling a large carpet in the CAC gallery that remains on display through the holiday. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to connect and learn more about the upcoming Cleveland Día de los Muertos Parade on Saturday, November 7, in Gordon Square.
