If you’re in Cleveland for Labor Day Weekend 2022, consider this fair warning that you’re entering the Danger Zone.
That’s right, the Cleveland National Air Show, one of the oldest annual air shows in the country, returns to Burke Lakefront Airport in Downtown Cleveland, Sept. 3 – 5, 2022. Join more than 100,000 spectators in the shadow of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as you experience the thrilling sights and deafening roar of the best in aviation spectacle.
Not sure what to expect? Don’t worry, we’ve got your six.
U.S. Navy Blue Angels
The legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels return to Cleveland for an aerial showcase that blows away audiences year after year, and we’re not just talking about the sonic booms. The team’s new F/A-18 Super Hornets will make their Cleveland debut as the blue and yellow crafts perform the gracefully aerobatic Diamond Formation, the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of its two Solo Pilots and the pinnacle of precision flying – the renowned, six-jet Delta Formation. Now that’s what I call “high” art. (See what I did there?)
USAF F-16 Viper Team
Captain Aimee Fiedler leads commands F-16 Viper Demonstration Team as they perform precision aerial maneuvers to demonstrate what one of the Air Force’s premier, multi-role fighters can do. With its lightweight airframe and powerful GE engine, the F-16 Fighting Falcon can fly at speeds over and above Mach 2. If you’ve got a need for speed, this is your jet.
Flying Fun for All
Enjoy even more aircraft demonstrations, along with a variety of aviation-related exhibits from planes and helicopters that allow you to jump inside the cockpit, to an assortment of drones and model aircraft. Meet some of the pilots and performers like the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, indulge in delicious food or browse a wide selection of souvenirs, toys and other gifts. Boredom doesn’t have a chance in this dogfight.
