Join us for an artist talk and artmaking program with exhibiting artist, Rachel Linnemann. Utilizing principles of assemblage, Linnemann recontextualizes found objects associated with labor and femininity to celebrate her Appalachian ancestral heritage. Through her practice, she emphasizes the significance of mental health, growth, resilience, and the enduring presence of joy in the face of hardship. In this assemblage sculpture program, participants will reflect on the values and lessons they have learned from their communities to create a collaborative work of art that will be included in Rachel Linnemann’s solo exhibition at The Sculpture Center. Rachel Linnemann’s solo exhibition, "Butterflies on Barbed Wire," will be on view at The Sculpture Center April 26 – June 15, 2024.
