Did you know Lake Erie creates fantastic conditions for vineyards? It sustains summer heat to extend the growing season and creates unbelievable soil for grapes. So, it’s no wonder that we’ve got some great wine spots in The Land.
This Gordon Square-based wine bar features an eye-catching statement wall with wine bottles embedded in concrete—setting the tone for its edgy wine list with 35+ selections. Pair a glass (or bottle) with a charcuterie-and-cheese board, or the chef-curated “Trio of Toast.”
Sip and shop at this so-stylish-it’s-practically-plucked-from-Instagram spot. At this Gordon Square wine bar and retail shop, let the knowledgeable staff be your co-pilots by curating the perfect wine flight (“Let’s Get Fizzical,” anyone?), or shop the shelves featuring 400+ selections for to-go tippling.
Nestled among boutiques and bookstores on Old Detroit Road is a “little slice of Paris in Rocky River.” This full-service restaurant and wine bar beckons with an inviting patio — and an ongoing invitation to uncork and unwind. (Do just that with a Bistro Board piled high with meat, fromage and other fixings.)
Located in historic downtown Bedford, this boutique bottle shop and tasting room aims to make wine less intimidating and more enjoyable for all. Dynamic duo Brittany and Dre Wiley source the wines they carry primarily from female- and minority-owned enterprises.
Walk among the grapevines on this verdant plot of bountiful land just east of downtown. One of just a few urban wineries in Cleveland, Chateau Hough boasts a tasting room just beyond the vines where you can sample and purchase several varieties. The winery’s origin story is inspiring and memorable.
Off to Market (Avenue) we go! This Ohio City fixture invites quiet contemplation, intimate conversation or a joyous celebration—with plenty of vino in tow. Rely on a seasoned sommelier to discover your next favorite pour, then pop a cork on-site or head home with your selection.
Humility is kind of our thing in Cleveland, but we’re shameless about plugging the wine selections (and the pizza, small plates and charcuterie!) at this friendly neighborhood hangout. Start with $5 glasses at happy hour and stay for the high-energy vibes and spirited crowd.
