The year 2020 has been a weird year, to say the least. Almost everything has changed, but one thing remains the same… we can all still enjoy a good sandwich. These seven sandwiches (in no particular order) have been a bright spark during this dismal year. I am no food critic, just a sandwich fan who eats way too many sandwiches.
This is a great classic Italian sub. You must order with all the peppers and oil. The combo of premium meats and fresh baked roll will make your belly happy.
It’s hard for me to look at this sandwich without drooling. The fried chicken schnitzel will melt in your mouth and melt your heart at the same time. The pickles and aioli compliment it in the most perfect way.
Sometimes you can’t wait to take a bite before you get the sandwich pic. This sandwich is pure harmony. Roasted rapini, gruyere cheese, romesco, and honey grain mustard work in unison with the pork to deliver the maximum sandwich experience.
Everything from Larder is a treat. This thick-cut pastrami sandwich is one of the many sandwiches I LOVE from Larder. Just go eat there. You’re welcome.
This one falls under the fun sandwich category. Their selection of hot dogs is fantastic, but when you aren’t in the mood for a classic hot dog, their cuban sandwich is a great option. Ham with Scooter’s brand all meat “dawg” on grilled sourdough bread, with swiss cheese, and pickles, are all complimented with a yummy bbq mustard sauce. Sorry to say, you’re going to have to wait until 2021 for this one — they are closed for the season.
I wanted to include one on here for the herbivores. You will never see me order a sandwich that doesn’t include meat, however this sandwich is the exception. The grill bread made from the spent grain at the brewery is the perfect vessel for all the crunchy veggies. Thankful for the pickled beets. Sidenote: Pairs well with all the NB beers!
This one is a very special Alex Kidd creation. An oblong shaped burger patty runs the length of a bacon strip and hoagie roll. The toasted hoagie roll is the perfect home for this meat treat — every bite is burger, bacon and cheese. Pickles are a must!
