It’s completely true — girls just wanna have fun. And, when it comes to weekends away with your squad, girls just wanna have even more fun.
Thinking about celebrating with your girls in The Land? We got you.
Day 1
Breakfast: Donuts & Beer
Brewnuts, located in the Detroit Shoreway, might be one of the cutest donut shops out there. On top of that, their donuts have beer in them, which makes them super easy to wash down with a cold one … or a hot one. Insider tip: they’ll spike your coffee, too.
Morning: Break a Sweat
Did the donuts and beer mess up your #sweatingforthewedding vibe? Ride a bike at Harness Cycle or sign up for a TITLE Boxing Club class in the Hingetown area of Ohio City. Sometimes, a good sweat gives you that balance you’ll need from feeling guilty about all of the celebrating during bach weekend.
Keep that healthy train going by popping over to Cleveland Tea Revival afterwards and order some herbal goodness.
Afternoon: Day Drink
Cruise the Cuyahoga River in style aboard the BrewBoat CLE. It’s a fun way to see parts of Cleveland only viewable from the crooked river — all while tipping back a few drinks. The boat, which is operated by way of its passengers pedaling, fits up to 14 guests. It’s a BYOB situation and they use an audio system that connects to your phone. All of this sets the perfect mood for day drinking with your squad.
Bacheloretting during BrewBoat’s offseason? Never fear. Get a little messy at the Cleveland Candle Company, located in Ohio City. Book a private party where you and your girlfriends can make your own candles, lip balm, paintings and more with the help of an instructor. And, most importantly, you can bring your own beer and wine to get those creative juices flowing.
Tip: Purchase your BYOB from a downtown grocery store like Heinen's or Constantino's Market before BrewBoat or Cleveland Candle Company.
Dinner: Chill Out
Ease into the big weekend with the chill vibes reverberating from the eclectic, vintage-style neighborhood of Tremont. Grab some food (and some seriously delicious drinks) with the ladies at a low-key spot like Fat Cats, The South Side, Barrio or Crust.
Evening: Bar Hop
Take a stroll along Tremont’s tree-lined avenues, passed historic churches, through art galleries and amid innovative restaurants and you’ll find no shortage of awesome bars. For starters, there’s the hotspot known as the Treehouse, which boasts a beautiful, giant tree in the center of the bar that’s covered with glowing lights. Other places we dig include the Tremont Tap House (go for the beer cocktails), Hi and Dry (duckpin bowling), Prosperity Social Club (pitchers of sangria) and the Bourbon Street Barrel Room (hurricanes FTW).
Late Night: Slice It
Edison’s Pizza in Tremont might be the most special pizza-by-the-slice you’ll ever eat. Each pie is made with love, as well as their signature Parmesan cheese-dusted crust. If you end up ordering a slice with pepperoni, don’t be surprised if there are at least 30 of them on it (you seriously can’t even see the cheese). Local tip: ask for honey to dip the crust in — you won’t regret it.
Day 2
Brunch: Cleveland’s a Plum
Located in Ohio City, The Plum is a charming-yet-trendy restaurant with an aesthetically pleasing décor that has quickly become a popular weekend brunch spot — and for good reason. With an eclectic menu and mimosas to match, you can’t go wrong with their awesome brunch menu. Pro tip: the fried chicken sandwich has the ability to save a (hungover) life.
Afternoon: Relax
Edgewater Beach always feels like a vacation. You can rent paddleboards and kayaks from the little boat shack, play volleyball, have drinks and people-watch from the second level of the beach house. Or, if that’s too much work after last night’s excitement, you can also just lay out on the beach and soak up the sun. (The beach house also has a killer concession stand and really good ice cream … just sayin’.)
About a mile east of Edgewater Beach is Whiskey Island and Wendy Park. Think: live bands jamming along the waterfront, picnic tables with red umbrellas looking out toward Lake Erie and fun drinks served in pineapples.
Too cold outside? Then, pre-game with an afternoon blitz at the saloon. Get a fancy-fresh look with a blowout and makeover over at Style House Beauty Bar inside the 5th Street Arcades. Go for manis and pedis at Marengo Luxury Spa, located inside the Old Arcade. Or, make it a spa day with massages, facials, seaweed wraps and other services at Vedas Spa, located inside the Marriott at the Key Center.
Dinner: Class It Up
Dress up and treat yo’ self. Plan for a upscale dinner in Downtown Cleveland at places like Marble Room Steak & Raw Bar, Red the Steakhouse or Lola Bistro. If dining with a waterfront view is more your style, consider Alley Cat Oyster Bar in The Flats, Pier W in Lakewood, or Luca Cleveland on the Superior Viaduct. Either way, glam it up for a girls night out.
Evening: Girls Night
For those of you that feel like raging, Punch Bowl Social will do the job. Spend the night sipping bubbles on the rooftop. Or, rent one of their private karaoke rooms so that you can … you know … sing at the top of your lungs without judgment from strangers.
If your crew wants something a bit more swanky, get to Magnolia, a secret speakeasy that’s become a popular, late-night hotspot in The Flats. TIP: go to their website to receive an entry password.
Where to Crash …
Want to stay centrally located to all the bachelorette party action — but have to keep varying budgets in mind? Consider an overnight stay in a Downtown Cleveland hotel property. Or, stay especially close to the action at the Aloft Cleveland Downtown, which is located in The Flats.
