It’s been a weird few years, to say the least. Almost everything has changed, but one thing remains the same… we can all still enjoy a good sandwich. These seven sandwiches (in no particular order) have been a bright spark during this dismal time. I am no food critic, just a sandwich fan who eats way too many sandwiches.
Sandwich: Italian Sub
This is a great classic Italian sub. You must order with all the peppers and oil. The combo of premium meats and fresh baked roll will make your belly happy.
Sandwich: Lincoln Park
It’s hard for me to look at this sandwich without drooling. The fried chicken schnitzel will melt in your mouth and melt your heart at the same time. The pickles and aioli compliment it in the most perfect way.
Sandwich: Porchetta
Sometimes you can’t wait to take a bite before you get the sandwich pic. This sandwich is pure harmony. Roasted rapini, gruyere cheese, romesco, and honey grain mustard work in unison with the pork to deliver the maximum sandwich experience.
Sandwich: Pastrami
Everything from Larder is a treat. This thick-cut pastrami sandwich is one of the many sandwiches I LOVE from Larder. Just go eat there. You’re welcome.
Sandwich: Corned Beef
Nothing is more Cleveland than a gargantuan corned beef sandwich (on rye, of course) from this downtown delicatessen. And don’t forget to crown this baddie with a slice of Swiss cheese.
Sandwich: Veggie
I wanted to include one on here for the herbivores. You will never see me order a sandwich that doesn’t include meat, however this sandwich is the exception. The grill bread made from the spent grain at the brewery is the perfect vessel for all the crunchy veggies. Thankful for the pickled beets. Sidenote: Pairs well with all the NB beers!
Sandwich: Longburger
This one is a very special Alex Kidd creation. An oblong shaped burger patty runs the length of a bacon strip and hoagie roll. The toasted hoagie roll is the perfect home for this meat treat — every bite is burger, bacon and cheese. Pickles are a must!
