More than 400 industry partners, collaborators and community stakeholders celebrated the region’s continued resilience and the steady return of travel and tourism at Destination Cleveland’s 2022 Annual Meeting on July 11 at Truss in the Ohio City neighborhood.
Work to restore the industry to its growth position and ensure all Clevelanders benefit from travel and tourism’s impact continues, and Destination Cleveland is committed to collaboration, building connections and developing creative solutions to help move the city forward.
Thanks to its collaborative spirit, the travel and tourism industry has started to turn the corner – transforming the COVID crisis into opportunity.
The industry saw strong growth in 2021 – as local hotel occupancy returned at a faster rate than U.S. occupancy overall.
Destination Cleveland is applying our learnings and focusing on propelling the industry and community forward. Our goal is to make travel and tourism a growth industry for Cleveland again.
Destination Cleveland’s new strategic plan focuses on how the organization can move travel and tourism as well as the community forward. By attracting visitors, strengthening perceptions and amplifying authentic and diverse experiences within greater Cleveland, Destination Cleveland can help transform the community into a more equitable and prosperous city.
Additionally, Destination Cleveland is committed to partnering with other organizations to advance community priorities that align with its mission. Through collaboration, the community can build on the momentum being generated by new public, private and civic leadership, new investment and development and cultivation of innovative solutions to address the community’s challenges.
Cleveland’s greatest asset is its people. And there’s no better way to authentically tell the stories of Cleveland than through our residents.
