Cleveland is full of creative people doing interesting and imaginative things. Sometimes, it takes a little imagination – and a whole lot of heart – to bring a taste of your culture to your new home. In 1989, brothers Mike and Fred Assad opened Assad’s Bakery in order to bring the healthiest, high-quality pita bread to Cleveland, where their parents emigrated from Jerusalem in the 60s.
Since then, this local institution has grown to offer a full line of imported and freshly prepared Mediterranean foods and has been a cornerstone of their neighborhood. Getting hungry? Check out Assad’s Bakery.
