Learn how to blow glass with the experts in a real glass blowing studio at the Glass Bubble Project in Ohio City, located behind the iconic West Side Market.
Students will learn glass blowing basics including how to work safely in the studio, gather from the furnace and use primary tools. As part of this unique experience, students will create one solid and two blown art glass pieces with the assistance of an instructor. There’s also the option to make windchimes and glass tiles.
The Glass Bubble Project uses reclaimed glass, metal and wood from razed buildings throughout the city, which means you can take a literal piece of Cleveland home with you.
Additional Information
All glass blowing classes are suitable for ages 5 and older.
Participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or heels) and have long hair securely tied back. Natural-fiber clothing is recommended. A light, long-sleeved cotton shirt is best. Consider dressing in layers, as working with molten glass can get hot. Shorts are acceptable during warm-weather months. Bring water to stay hydrated.
There is a rooster named Morty who lives in the shop. Don’t worry, he’s friendly!
