The Land of Community Involvement

Cleveland’s Lee-Harvard

A Suburb in a City

Where in the world?

Formerly farmland, this southeast neighborhood full of family and African American culture sits near Shaker Heights, Warrensville Heights and Maple Heights.

Race to a Fun Time

Or trot. Whatever floats your boat.

Head to the historic Lee-Harvard Plaza for shopping of all types. If you need fresh eats, check out a branch of Dave’s Markets, a go-to for residents. The best part is this popular shopping location is a part of American history: it’s the first Black-owned and managed shopping center in the U.S. In 1979, the residents themselves bought the plaza to turn things in the community around — and that they did.

If a casino fun is more your jam, head to Jack Thistledown Racino in the nearby suburb of North Randall for thoroughbred horse racing and other gaming and fun.

Let's Roam

Known as a “suburb in a city,” Lee-Harvard is a southeast Cleveland neighborhood nestled between Shaker Heights, Warrensville Heights and Maple Heights. Pride runs deep for the 10,000 residents of Lee-Harvard. Stop by any evening and you’ll find parents, grandparents and kids playing in the front yard or sharing a family dinner around the table.

Lee-Harvard is home to the first African American-owned and managed shopping center in the country. Feeling lucky? Head on over to JACK Thistledown Racino for live thoroughbred racing and other gaming thrills not far away.
