CLEVELAND (Sept. 26, 2019) –Destination Cleveland will return to the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) from Oct. 3-5 for the third year in a row to promote Northeast Ohio's growing craft beer scene. GABF, which takes place in Denver, is the premier U.S. beer festival and competition that brings together 60,000 attendees from across the country, including members of the Brewers Association as well as beer enthusiasts. Destination Cleveland partnered with Masthead Brewing Company to create a shared booth experience at this year’s festival.
As a part of the booth experience, Destination Cleveland and Masthead Brewing Co. collaborated to create a signature beer to pour for festival attendees, “The Factory of Hoppiness.” The double New England IPA features mosaic, cashmere and Idaho 7 hops. The beer will be canned and available at Masthead’s taproom starting October 12.
“Destination Cleveland’s continued presence at the Great American Beer Festival reinforces Cleveland’s reputation as a strong craft brewing scene,” said Emily Lauer, senior director PR/Communications, Destination Cleveland. “Participating in the event also supports the Cleveland-area breweries that are in attendance, further solidifying and promoting collaboration within the Cleveland brewery scene overall.”
Destination Cleveland also created a mini brewery passport that highlights the Cleveland brewers with a presence at the festival. The breweries include The Brew Kettle, Collision Bend Brewing Company, Fat Head’s Brewery + Beer Hall, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Masthead Brewing Co., Railroad Brewing Co., Saucy Brew Works, Willoughby Brewing Co. and Working Class Brewery. After festival attendees visit and sample a beer from at least five of the Cleveland breweries onsite, they can return to the Cleveland booth and “spin to win” Cleveland prizes. Those who return the passport after visiting at least five of the breweries can enter to win a beer-cation to Cleveland in 2020, which includes round-trip airfare for two, two-nights downtown hotel accommodations and a Cleveland Brew Bus experience.
