CLEVELAND (July 11, 2022) – The newly formed
Cleveland Talent Alliance today announced the hiring of Sara Greicius as director. A Bay Village native, she will guide the Alliance’s first year of work - leading the development of the consortium’s operating model, processes, key strategies and key performance indicators for the collaborative effort. She will join the organization on July 19.
Greicius earned degrees from Miami University and Virginia Tech and previously served as a senior international admissions counselor in the Office of Global Education at Kent State University. Most notably in that role, she was responsible for attracting international students and families to the university and creating and fostering relationships with Kent State partners to expand recruitment tactics. She also focused on streamlining admissions processes by working closely with graduate programs and implementing and chairing the International Admissions Recruitment Committee.
Launched in March 2022, the
Cleveland Talent Alliance is a consortium of eleven entities with the shared goal of developing a seamless and coordinated system to identify, attract, navigate, engage, welcome and retain the best talent in Cleveland, with an initial focus on the fast growth sectors of IT/technology (including financial services), healthcare and smart manufacturing.
In her new role, Greicius will shift her focus to developing a creative and coordinated talent attraction effort to bring top talent from across the world to Cleveland. She will be an employee of Destination Cleveland, the organization serving as lead for the Cleveland Talent Alliance given the direct tie to its mission and expertise in attracting people to Cleveland. Other Alliance members are Greater Cleveland Partnership, Cleveland Leadership Center, Team NEO, Cuyahoga County, Engage! Cleveland, JobsOhio, Global Cleveland, MAGNET, Fund for our Economic Future and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. Since the initial announcement in March, nearly 30 private and nonprofit sector organizations have expressed interest in getting involved.
Once the Alliance’s initial operations and strategic planning work is complete, it will transition to focusing on the following high-level goals for years two through five:
- Generate interest in Cleveland as a place to live and work.
- Increase consideration of Cleveland as a place to live and work, with an initial focus on the fast growth sectors of IT/technology (including financial services), healthcare and smart manufacturing.
