CLEVELAND (Nov. 16, 2023) – Ahead of what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years for travel to The Land, Cleveland is being recommended by two national media outlets as a must-visit destination next year. The city is one of 50 destinations featured in Travel + Leisure’s 50 Best Places to Travel in 2024 and, as a result of its place in the path of totality for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, was included as one of the 16 Best Places to Travel by The Points Guy.

“This recognition from two well-respected and highly read media outlets underscores the excitement ahead for Cleveland in 2024,” said David Gilbert, president and CEO, Destination Cleveland. “All the large-scale events on tap in 2024 and major updates at museums, hotels and cultural institutions give travelers unique reasons to visit The Land, adding to the world-class attractions, neighborhoods and experiences that already make Cleveland a must-visit destination for travelers.”

On Travel & Leisure’s list, which was released today, the editors recognized Cleveland in the Big City Thrills category, one of seven categories of destinations to visit. Travel + Leisure pointed to large events, such as the 2024 NCAA Women’s Final Four, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, Pan-American Masters Games and the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, as reasons to visit Cleveland in the upcoming year. The publication also mentioned expansions underway at cultural institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Karamu House, development along the waterfront and updates to the city’s hotel line-up in its recommendation for travelers. Destinations are selected by more than 20 Travel + Leisure staffers and described as “places that thoughtful, curious travelers should consider in 2024.” The full list will also appear in the publication’s print edition.

The Points Guy also recently included Cleveland on its Where to Go in 2024: The 16 Best Places to Travel list as part of its roundup of locations to view the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse on April 8. The website points to the long duration of totality for the eclipse, hotel specials and Great Lakes Science Center and NASA’s Glenn Research Center’s Total Solar Eclipse Festival (April 6-8) as reasons for travelers to visit Cleveland during the celestial event. The list from The Points Guy is compiled based on the website’s editorial team expertise as well as input from contributors around the world.

|The full Travel + Leisure list can be found here, and the full list from The Points Guy is available online.
