CLEVELAND (July 1, 2019) – Destination Cleveland’s 2019-2020 Cleveland Brewery Passport is now available for residents and visitors. The second year of the program includes new breweries and new prizes for participation.
“We saw both residents and visitors embrace the 2018-2019 Cleveland Brewery Passport,” said David Gilbert, President and CEO, Destination Cleveland. “To date, more than 2,000 people have completed the first tier of the brewery passport, and more than 1,800 people have completed the entire passport. We expect that number to increase as the deadline for redemptions approaches on July 13.”
Gilbert continued, “By expanding the program, residents and visitors have the chance to explore more of Northeast Ohio’s growing craft beer scene and earn new rewards for their participation.”
Four additional breweries will be participating in the 2019-2020 Cleveland Brewery Passport, bringing the total of participating breweries to 34. Bookhouse Brewing, The Cornerstone Brewing Company, Southern Tier Brewing Company and Phunkenship (upon opening) joined the program for its second year.
Breweries returning for the 2019-2020 Cleveland Brewery Passport include: Avon Brewing Company, Bad Tom Smith Brewing, Boss Dog Brewing Co., The Bottlehouse Brewery, The Brew Kettle, Brim Kitchen + Brewery, Brick and Barrel, Butcher and the Brewer, The Cleveland Brewery, Collision Bend Brewing Company, Fat Head’s Brewery + Beer Hall, Forest City Brewery, Goldhorn Brewery, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Hansa Brewery and Restaurant, Hofbräuhaus Brewpub, The Jolly Scholar, Market Garden Brewery, Masthead Brewing Co., Nano Brew, Noble Beast Brewing Co., Platform Beer Co., Railroad Brewing Co., Rocky River Brewing Company, Saucy Brew Works, Sibling Revelry Brewing, Terrestrial Brewing Company, Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., Willoughby Brewing Co. and Working Class Brewery.
Also new this year, residents and visitors can now receive a prize at three tiers when using the passport. All rewards must be redeemed after each tier is completed at the Cleveland Visitors Center (334 Euclid Ave.), not at the breweries.
- 8 breweries visited: After making a purchase at just eight of the 34 participating breweries/brewpubs, a Cleveland Brewery Passport coaster pack is available to participants.
- 20 breweries visited: If residents or visitors make a purchase at 20 breweries, they will receive a Cleveland Brewery Passport pint glass.
- 34 breweries visited: Those that fill their entire Cleveland Brewery Passport will receive a Cleveland Brewery Passport t-shirt showcasing the 2019-2020 participating breweries. They will also be entered in a contest to win a weekend getaway in Cleveland. Please note: Residents and visitors do not have to wait until Phunkenship is open to redeem the full passport prize. If residents and visitors come to the Cleveland Visitors Center to redeem for 33 breweries visited (prior to Phunkenship’s opening), Destination Cleveland will give the final “free” stamp to complete their 2019-2020 passport journey. The “free” stamp can only be used to complete the entire passport.
- When residents or visitors complete any of the tiers and redeem at the Cleveland Visitors Center, they will be entered into a quarterly drawing for tickets to a sporting event taking place in the following quarter.
How It Works
The Cleveland Brewery Passport is available at any participating brewery or the Cleveland Visitors Center.
Residents and visitors earn a stamp in their passport when they purchase a drink, food or merchandise at a participating brewery, all of which are located within a 25-mile radius of Downtown Cleveland. Criteria for brewery involvement in the Cleveland Brewery Passport include:
- All breweries must have an A1C permit and should have a brewing system on premise.
- All breweries’ beers should be continuously available to the public when the passport launches and throughout the year. *
