CLEVELAND
(March 6, 2017) - Thinking of a Lake Erie getaway this year? For a
one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore Cleveland and much more of Ohio's north
coast, Destination Cleveland is partnering with six Ohio visitors bureaus to
give away a seven-day, seven-night Lake Erie experience called "Tour the
Shore."
As a part of the "Tour the Shore" giveaway, one lucky winner
will receive overnight accommodations and tickets to area attractions at a new
location along the shore each day. The tour begins June 1. The Cleveland portion
of the experience provides the winner a chance to enjoy the hustle and bustle
of city life as well as the city's lakefront.
"One of Cleveland's greatest assets is its accessibility to both
Lake Erie and world-class cultural institutions, and we look forward to
showcasing both when we host the Tour the Shore giveaway winner," said Marie
Scalia, director of marketing, Destination Cleveland. "Destination Cleveland is
excited to partner with six visitor bureaus on a giveaway that highlights the interesting
attractions and experiences along the state's Lake Erie shoreline."
The winner's tour will begin in Ashtabula County with stops
at several wineries and a night at the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Day two
will include a trip to Lake County for a visit to the Holden Arboretum and an
evening at a Lake County Captains baseball game with fireworks. The winner will
continue west to Cleveland for a visit to the world's only Rock & Roll Hall
of Fame and a night on the town with dinner at Michael Symon's Lola restaurant.
Day four in Lorain County will feature zip lining and delicious
dishes. For day five, the winner will hop on the ferry to Put-in-Bay where a
cart will be waiting for island explorations, followed by a day in Sandusky
County with a stop at the Rutherford B. Hayes Museum. The tour's final stop in
Toledo includes a visit to the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium and a stay at the
Maumee Bay Resort.
