CLEVELAND (June 14, 2018) - National Selfie Day is June 21, and Clevelanders can celebrate this quirky holiday and reveal all that is uniquely Cleveland with social media selfies at various places around the city. From skyline views to colorful street art to delicious food, Destination Cleveland recommends 13 ways for locals to inspire their family and friends around the country to come for a visit (using #ThisisCLE on all their posts of course!).
City Views
Passengers Cafe
Not only does Passengers Cafe at the Cleveland Hostel offer a bottomless mug of hot, fresh coffee and tasty pastries, it also has a great view of the city skyline from its rooftop deck. Residents can grab a seat for the afternoon and snag that perfect picture for social media. Clevelanders can even pick up a "Disloyalty Card" at Passengers, which encourages and rewards visits to other local coffee shops.

Downtown CLE
Downtown Cleveland is brimming with selfie options. Locals can add themselves to a scenic skyline view right in the heart of the city while watching live entertainment and grabbing an appetizer or signature drink 150 feet above the city streets at Azure Rooftop Lounge. If Clevelanders are looking for an indoor/outdoor bar with craft cocktails and a view of Lake Erie, they can visit Bar 32, located on the 32nd floor of Hilton Cleveland Downtown.
- Azure, 2017 E. 9th St., Cleveland
- Bar 32, 100 Lakeside Ave. E., Cleveland
Cleveland Script Signs
For selfies with the backdrop of the iconic Cleveland skyline, residents can go to the popular Cleveland script signs located throughout the city. For sign spots that include the beach and Lake Erie, residents can choose from Edgewater Park or Villa Angela Beach. For a bonus at Edgewater, enjoy delicious Honey Hut ice cream at the new beach house. The Tremont sign is a hop, skip and a jump from a tasty meal at Sokolowski's while the North Coast Harbor sign is right behind Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center. Residents can take their pick between the signs or visit all four for skyline-filled selfies!
- Edgewater Park Beach, Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, Cleveland
- North Coast Harbor, 1001 E. 9th St., Cleveland
- Tremont, 1430 Abbey Ave., Cleveland
- Villa Angela Beach in the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation, 16301 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland
Works of Art
Ohio City Street Art
What do a pizza slice, Prince and Cleveland have in common? They are all street mural subjects located throughout Ohio City. A crowd favorite is the "Greetings from Cleveland" mural, which captures everything CLE in one painting - from beloved Cleveland sports teams to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In the Hingetown area of Ohio City, residents can selfie away with a massive slice of cheesy pepperoni pizza or a purple-filled tribute to Prince - just two of the eleven murals painted as part of the Cleveland Foundation's Creative Fusion program.
- "Greetings," 2098 W. 25th St., Cleveland
- Pizza slice, intersection of W. 28th St. and Church Ave., Cleveland
- Prince, intersection of W. 25th St. and Washington Ave., Cleveland
Art Museums
Cleveland's arts and culture neighborhood, University Circle, is a must-stop for residents who want their selfies to be a true masterpiece. Locals can visit the Cleveland Museum of Art and emulate Rodin's "The Thinker" or take a selfie with their "knight in shining armor" in the museum's armor court. The gem-like architecture of Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland is a jewel of a selfie background, and for the not-so-sophisticated selfie snapper, the museum's mirror-like exterior provides the perfect reflection.
- Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd., Cleveland
- MOCA, 11400 Euclid Ave., Cleveland
LeBron James banner
It's not a true photoshoot in Cleveland without a picture with the King of The Land-LeBron James. Since catching James strolling around Downtown isn't likely, residents can visit the larger-than-life tribute on the Landmark Office Tower across from Quicken Loans Arena. For the ultimate Instagram, locals can even sport some Cleveland Cavaliers gear and imitate LeBron's pose.

Classic CLE
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Located on the shore of Lake Erie, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is filled with amazing artifacts from the music genre's influential artists. Inside, opportunities abound for selfies from Michael Jackson's iconic sequin glove to Taylor Swift's microphone from her 1989 Tour to multiple outfits from Bon Jovi in the new Class of 2018 exhibit. If time is of the essence, residents can snap a quick selfie by the giant "Long Live Rock" sign located on the museum's plaza.
- 1100 E. 9th St., Cleveland
Playhouse Square Chandelier
Whether residents are leisurely meandering down Euclid Avenue or hanging out before or after a show at one of Playhouse Square's theatres, they can capture a selfie with the world's largest outdoor chandelier. This stunning spectacle is suspended from a 44-foot-high steel structure, is 20 feet tall and shimmers with more than 4,200 shining crystals. The glimmering neighborhood centerpiece is designed in the same style as the grand chandeliers that adorn the theater lobbies.
- Intersection of E. 14th St. and Euclid Ave., Cleveland
A Christmas Story House
If residents are up to the triple-dog-dare of celebrating Christmas all year long, they can stop by A Christmas Story House for holly jolly selfies. From the house's iconic exterior to the famous leg lamp in the window (careful, it's FRA-GEE-LAY) to film props spread throughout the house and museum, Clevelanders can score a "major award" with a selfie at the holiday favorite filming location.
- 3159 W. 11th St., Cleveland
East 4th Street
Strings of bright lights and loads of illuminated venue signs offer the perfect lighting for Clevelanders to capture the hustle and bustle of downtown in their selfies on East 4th Street. Options don't end on the street corner as residents can snap selfies while jamming at the House of Blues, showing off their CLE-style barbecue at Mabel's BBQ or grabbing some Cleveland gear from CLE Clothing Co.
Progressive Field
When visiting the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, residents can catch a Tribe game and some stellar selfies. As locals stroll into Progressive Field, they can snap a pic with the famous Bob Feller statue at the right field entrance gate or even grab a selfie with Slider, Ketchup, Mustard and Onion as they walk around the park. Looking for a grand slam selfie opp to end the evening? The view of the field from the stands as the sun sets or the fabulous fireworks shows on weekend nights are top-notch.
- 2401 Ontario St., Cleveland

Foodie Photos
Brewnuts Donuts and Beer
Posting food and drinks that wow in social media selfies is almost more important than finding food and drinks to actually enjoy. Luckily, Brewnuts sells an array of unique, colorful and delicious doughnuts, including flavors like Mango Lime, Butterfinger cream-filled and Reese's Puffs, that are perfect for that unconventional selfie. Locals can also snag selfies with the neon "Donut Mess With Cleveland" sign hanging behind the front counter, other doughnut-themed art or the iconic leg lamp from "A Christmas Story" displayed in the front window.
- 6501 Detroit Road, Cleveland
Melt Bar and Grilled
For selfies with sky-high sandwiches, Clevelanders can stop by Melt Bar and Grilled. Known for their multitude of unusual grilled cheese sandwiches, Melt's menu has everything from a Chicken and Waffles sandwich to the "Fried Father" sandwich, which has a piece of fried three-cheese lasagna. And if Clevelanders are up for the ultimate test (and potentially the ultimate selfie), they can try the Melt Challenge, a sandwich that consists of three slices of grilled bread, 12 different cheeses, a pile of French fires, coleslaw and pickles.
