CLEVELAND (June 8, 2017) - Father's Day is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than by dedicating the weekend to dad with a Cleveland adventure. From cheering on hometown heroes at the ballpark to enjoying toe-tapping tunes or activities at historical havens, Destination Cleveland suggests that residents treat dad to an unforgettable weekend in his own backyard - figuratively speaking.
Celebrate with Song
Larchmere PorchFest
- For a day of "rocking out" with dad, residents can head over to the annual Larchmere PorchFest in Cleveland's Shaker Square neighborhood. The free music festival showcases 30 bands on 30 porches as well as shows at some of the unique venues in the area. This year's line-up features performances by groups like Cleveland's own Carlos Jones and the Plus Band and The Modern Electric. Fear not as the party doesn't end there. After parties will be held at restaurants like Batuqui and Felice Urban Café, which are both located in turn-of-the-century homes.

Nighttown
- Nighttown has been a staple in Cleveland‘s music scene for more than 50 years. The historic venue has hosted some of jazz's greatest musicians, along with local up-and-coming acts. From dinner and desserts in one of the many dining rooms to drinks at one of the venue's three bars while enjoying live performances, Nighttown will offer a one-of-a-kind night out on the town for dad. Father's Day weekend is jam-packed with shows by Joe Lovano "Hometown Sessions," Joe Lovano Quartet and Nicolas Meier.
Auto Aficionados
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens
- Just a 45-minute drive from Downtown Cleveland, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron will be featuring its 60th Annual Father's Day Car Show on June 18. Car enthusiasts will be in heaven as they peruse the display of four-hundred classic, antique and collector cars manufactured from 1925-1990. Guests can even see the special "Auto Show 1957" exhibit in front of the Manor House, which will feature high quality stock 1957 vehicles. In addition to checking out the different automobiles, families can explore the historic gardens, listen to live music in the courtyard or explore the butterfly habit and interactive Playgarden.

BOSS Pro-Karting
- Put the pedal to the metal and challenge dad to a friendly go-kart competition at BOSS Pro-Karting. Before taking the wheel of an electric go-kart, drivers can get decked out in official racing suits and gloves. Then it's off to the starting line and time to step on the gas for an exhilarating race around the track. Watch out- dad may leave you in the dust!

Cleveland Bike Tours
- Take in the city from a new point of view with an afternoon exploring Cleveland by bike with Cleveland Bike Tours. The tour company's two-hour, guided routes through Downtown Cleveland and Ohio City highlight the city's rich history and must-see attractions. The Downtown Cleveland Bike Tour includes stops at Public Square, Playhouse Square and the Gateway District, while the Ohio City Bike Tour offers stops at the West Side Market, Franklin Castle and The Glass Bubble Project. Residents can bring their own bike for the tour or utilize a bike provided by the tour company.

Superman Exhibit at Cleveland Public Library
- It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Super Dad! The new "Superman: From Cleveland to Krypton" exhibit at the Cleveland Public Library showcases one of America's most beloved superheroes and will provide a great afternoon with one of the superheroes in your life - dear old dad. The display includes a prototype of the larger-than-life Superman statue that is planned for placement near the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the future, a collection of Superman's appearances in movies and on television as well as comics, games, art and other memorabilia. Families can also get a picture outside of the home where Superman was "born" in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood.

Baseball Bonanza
The Cleveland Indians may be away during Father's Day weekend, but that doesn't mean that baseball activities are out of the question for Clevelanders and their dads.
- Inside the restored ticket booth of Cleveland's historic League Park is the Baseball Heritage Museum, which is sure to be a home run outing for dad. Locals can spend time exploring the museum's exhibits and memorabilia that present the history and diversity in baseball.

- Root, root, root for the home team over Father's Day weekend at a Minor League Akron Rubberducks game. The Rubberducks will be taking on the Portland Sea Dogs at Canal Park in Akron, and promotions will be plentiful (including jersey giveaways). Fireworks will light up the sky after the games on Friday and Saturday nights.

For a Father's Day feast fit for a king, delicious steak dinners are on the menu at some of Cleveland's finest establishments.
- Both Texas de Brazil locations will be opening early and serving the dinner menu all day. All fathers dining at the restaurant will receive a $20 certificate to use during a future visit.

Cleveland attractions are welcoming dads with free admission on Father's Day.
- For a walk on the wild side, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering free admission for dad with a paid child admission.
