DESTINATION CLEVELAND RECOMMENDS LOCAL RESTAURANTS, EVENTS AND INITIATIVES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVITIES

CLEVELAND (July 1, 2016) - It is time once again to slip into a patriotic t-shirt and make plans to celebrate the Fourth of July. Living close to a trending city, there are multiple options to let freedom ring while enjoying CLE's famous food, cold drinks and patriotic activities. Destination Cleveland offers a variety of options to help you take your holiday traditions to the next level in CLE on this Independence Day.

SPECTACULAR EVENTS:

Rib, White & Blue: Downtown Akron, July 1-4

All BBQ lovers should head to Akron to feast on barbeque from the masters. Featuring food, music and rides, the Rib, White and Blue annual festival is a hot spot this time of year. Sample BBQ from seven different states and enjoy live music from the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Bruce in the U.S.A, and Slippery When Wet.

Star Spangled Science: Great Lakes Science Center, July 1-4

Ever wonder how fireworks are made? Venture over to the Great Lakes Science Center for hands-on experiments. Let children learn the chemistry behind fireworks in a fun way from the staff at Star Spangled Science. Make and take your own wearable patriotic art to show off this 4th of July!

Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom: July 4

Lounge on the lawn at Blossom Music Center and enjoy a patriotic-themed show by the Cleveland Orchestra. This event is perfect for families to celebrate the holiday, complete with an explosive fireworks display to end the evening.

LET FREEDOM RING: CITY OF CLEVELAND FIREWORKS: July 4

On Independence Day, the City of Cleveland will put on their annual firework display at dusk. The launch location, where Lake Erie meets the Cuyahoga River, provides a picturesque opportunity to enjoy the view from various locations.

ROCKIN' ROOFTOPS:

Grab one of the best seats in town for a view of CLE's firework show over Lake Erie. A panoramic skyline view, cocktails, and fine dining - what more could you ask for? Get the rockin' rooftop experience at the following locations: Alley Cat, Azure - Sun Lounge, Bar 32 or Music Box Supper Club.

PATRIOTIC PATIOS:
