CLEVELAND (April 30, 2018) - There's no better way to celebrate Mother's Day than by dedicating the weekend, or entire week, to exploring the CLE with mom. While they say that mother knows best, kids (of all ages) can be the ones ‘in the know' by helping mom discover a new place in The Land or buying her an exceptional Cleveland-made gift. From bountiful brunches to complimentary admission at attractions, Destination Cleveland recommends that residents treat their mothers to a memorable but not wallet-busting weekend in Northeast Ohio.
Delicious Dining
Cleveland Botanical Garden
For a Mother's Day brunch surrounded by the most beautiful flowers and blooms in Northeast Ohio, residents can head to the Cleveland Botanical Garden located in the University Circle neighborhood. Moms, grandmas and other special women in locals' lives will feast on decadent dishes, including roasted salmon, made-to-order omelets and banana pancakes. After indulging in a scrumptious brunch, hundreds of tulips and hyacinths in the Spring Blooms exhibit can serve as the perfect backdrop for a selfie with mom.

100th Bomb Group
Just 20 minutes from Downtown Cleveland, Clevelanders can "take flight" to 100th Bomb Group for a Mother's Day brunch buffet. With views of takeoffs and landings at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, historic aircrafts and wartime vehicles embellishing the grounds and wall-to-wall memorabilia honoring our country's service men and women, families can immerse themselves in this aviation-centric venue while treating mom to a glass of bubbly from the champagne buffet and an array of delectable brunch items.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
The Cuyahoga Valley National Park's wetlands, fields and forests - all brimming with wildlife - await Clevelanders and their moms as they climb aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR). As part of its weekend-long Mother's Day celebration, CVSR is hosting a variety of events for locals of all ages. Residents can enjoy a CVSR special event, "Muffins with Mom," or the National Park Scenic Train Ride as they embark on a relaxing trip through Ohio's only national park. And from May 11-13, moms can ride the National Park Scenic excursion free of charge with the purchase of one adult/child coach ticket.

Arts Aficionado
Walkabout Tremont
For an evening of art admiration, food truck fare and unique entertainment, Clevelanders can trek through Tremont with mom. An outdoor extravaganza comprised of pop-up retail vendors, stilt walkers and Guinness World Record-sized bubbles awaits those that attend the "Spring Fling"-themed Walkabout Tremont on Friday, May 11. A dozen art galleries, boutiques like Banyan Tree and Pinky's Daily Planner, and for-purchase food from neighborhood favorites like Fahrenheit will etch this evening into mom's memory.
Playhouse Square
Opulent theaters adorned with gorgeous chandeliers and jaw-dropping murals set the scene for residents to spoil mom with tickets to a show at Playhouse Square. Laughs will ensue when award-winning actress Carol Burnett takes the stage on Wednesday, May 9, with a show that engages the audience with a live Q&A and clips from "The Carol Burnett Show." In the week leading up to Mother's Day and during the special weekend, a whole new world awaits for Clevelanders when the hit Broadway musical "Disney's Aladdin" flies into the KeyBank State Theatre on a magic carpet. If toe-tapping hits and sing-alongs to groovy chart-toppers are mom's style, residents can take a musical trip back to the 1960s at the Great Lakes Theater's performance of "Beehive: The 60's Musical," which celebrates women musicians like Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin.
Only in CLE Gifts
