Studio West 117 is a continually evolving neighborhood of LGBTQ+ safe spaces bridging the gap between Lakewood and Cleveland, Ohio.
Our first phase of the mission involved the creation of the Fieldhouse, a food, fitness, and entertainment community hub.
The Fieldhouse has a gymnasium, demonstration kitchen classroom, courtyard, rock-climbing wall, gallery, private dining, gastropub, rooftop patio bar, and pizza kitchen. The gymnasium offers recreational sports leagues like pickleball and dodgeball, as well as fitness classes like zumba, yoga, dance and cycling. The classroom has featured low pressure learning environments for cooking, baking, painting, and much more.
Muze, our ground-floor gastropub, offers a social space for drag shows, dance parties, and dinner reservations.
Trellis, the rooftop patio bar, has been a lovely area for private events and an escape from the more entertainment themed bar beneath.
Eat Me! pizza kitchen is accessible from Muze, and, once the weather is warm enough, you can order pizza from the window on the side of the building.
Our art program features five murals thus far in our LGBTQ+ Art Mural Program, and a gallery wall near the welcome desk of the gymnasium that has new shows rotating throughout the year.
Coming within the next few years, the second phase of the project involves renovating and reopening the Phantasy Entertainment Complex directly in front of the Fieldhouse building. This space will have theaters, bars, and retail space for LGBTQ+ vendors and businesses. The third phase will be the construction of an LGBTQ+ health and wellness center across the street, at the former NTB building lot.
