One of the things that makes Cleveland such a great place to be is its great diversity of people, whether it be of ethnic background or sexual orientation. To that end, Cleveland Pride, Inc. and the LGBT Cleveland Community Center join for an annual event celebrating our city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community – Pride in the CLE.
This inclusive event combines entertainment, education and activism with the goal of fostering unity and acceptance, raising awareness and generally just creating good vibes all around.
Pride in the CLE’s signature event is a march that aims to show off the unity and strength of our CLE community. Participants are very much encouraged to march as their authentic selves. It all steps off at Front Ave. and W. 9th St. and travels more than three city blocks to Public Square, where the real celebration begins.
Expect a bustling all-day festival hosted by Nina West of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and WKYC Meteorologist Michael Estime. Browse a diverse array of vendors including healthcare, activism, social groups, nonprofits and those all-important food trucks for delicious celebratory eats. Attendees can expect some great entertainment including DJs and a featured performance from national recording artist and former “Glee” star Alex Newell.
In addition to the many amazing daytime festivities, expect a variety of nighttime events located in neighborhoods and indoor venues throughout the city, including the Pride in the CLE Official Afterparty at The Burnham at The Hilton Downtown Cleveland celebrating 50 years of progress since the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Tickets for the afterparty are available for purchase here. Every ticket comes with a limited-edition Pride in the CLE t-shirt made exclusively for the festival.
Come down to Public Square on June 1 and show your pride at this amazing celebration of unity and acceptance in the CLE.
