Founded in 1995, the award-winning Contemporary Youth Orchestra is the only youth orchestra in the country dedicated to the study and performance of contemporary orchestral music. CYO musicians represent over 60 schools in Northeast Ohio, and have performed over 500 world premieres including works from Pulitzer Prize winners and members of the Cleveland Orchestra. CYO has performed with rock legends such as Melissa Etheridge, Ben Folds, Styx, and Graham Nash, and is thrilled to present this evening's concert with Kenny Loggins.
The remarkable four-decade-plus career of Kenny Loggins has brought him from the top of the charts to the toast of the Grammys. He's had smash hits on Hollywood's favorite soundtracks, rocked worldwide stages, and found his way into children's hearts while bringing his soulful, beautiful voice to a dozen platinum albums in a stunning variety of genres. His gift for crafting deeply emotional music is unparalleled, and it's been a part of his life as long as he can remember. His song “Footloose,” from the 1984 film of the same name, was recently added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress.
This concert is presented by Contemporary Youth Orchestra.
