American rock band Hootie and the Blowfish defined alternative rock in the ‘90s. From their humble beginnings at the University of South Carolina, Daruis Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim Sonefeld first met and began their musical career singing covers. The quartet released its debut studio album, Cracked Rear View, which launched the group’s career in the world of rock. Their hit single, “Let Her Cry,” won them a Grammy-Award in 1996. The band went on to release other award-winning albums; Fairweather Johnson, Musical Chairs, and Looking for Lucky.
