Every second Friday of every month, Walkabout Tremont brings together the whole neighborhood and, in warmer weather, the special events spill out into the streets. Engaging entertainment and a family-friendly atmosphere run late into the evening as shops and galleries extend their hours.

  • Doubting Thomas - This quirky, old-school gallery — throwback to ArtWalk style — always a new show opening every month.
  • Loop - At the Walkabouts, this coffeehouse and record store combo has a DJ and their featured artist in attendance.
  • Tremont Public Works - Tremont has embraced this new gallery and cafe. It has been on the up and up lately, hosting comedians during the Walkabout.
  • Paul Duda Gallery - Peek into this photo gallery and see cityscapes of Cleveland in a new light.

ArtWalk to Walkabout

When artists flocked to Tremont in the late ’80s, property was cheaper and the area was considered “edgy.” Flash forward and a group of artists started gathering momentum by collaborating and hosting events. In 1993, the ArtWalk started with seven businesses and spread street-by-street until it incorporated all of Tremont.

By 2016, the ArtWalk started to feel its age. Tremont wasn’t as “edgy” or as cheap as it used to be, but art still held its own space in the neighborhood so a group of volunteers got together to revitalize and rebrand the event. The ArtWalk morphed into Walkabout Tremont, a name that included the shops, restaurants and bars that participate alongside the galleries, pop-up art, and street performers.

Monthly Themes

The winter and early spring months tend to be quieter, with most specials staying indoors. Walkabout Tremont really kicks off as the weather warms up and the performers come out to play.

January - Winter Warmer
February - Jumpstart Your Heart
March - The Art of the Fish Fry
April - It’s Bloomin’ April!
May - Spring Fling (Walkabout moves outside for the season)
June - Walkabout on the Wild Side
July - American Classics
August - Let’s Luau
September - Walkabout Like a Pirate
October - Trick or Treat; Arts & Eats
November - Light Up Your Holidays (Walkabout moves inside for the Winter)
It’s officially too cold for artists to be outside. Check out their work and cozy up indoors.

December - Light Up Your Holidays
Get those last-minute deals and artsy one-of-a-kind gifts for special people in your lives at the last pop-up shops of the year.
