O.A.R. (short for Of A Revolution) was formed in Rockville (Maryland) in 1996 and is composed of Marc Roberge (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Richard On (lead guitar, backing vocals), Chris Culos (drums, percussion), Benj Gershman (bass guitar), and Jerry DePizzo (saxophone, rhythm guitar, percussion, backing vocals). When the band’s on tour, the line-up also includes Mikel Paris (keyboards, percussion, triangle, backing vocals), and Jon Lampley (trumpet, sousaphone, backing vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 5 live albums, 1 compilation album, 1 EP, and 12 singles. Their 2005 single (Love and Memories) has been certified Gold in the US and their 2008 single (Shattered…Turn the Car Around) went Platinum. Their music has also been featured in TV shows such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and MythBusters and also in films She’s The Man and Twilight. ESPN used their music in its coverage of NCAA baseball tournaments, College World Series, and World Series of Poker. Their work has also been featured on compilation albums such as Bonnaroo 2003, Rock For Relief, Mixclusives: Volume 6, The Target Red Room Volume: 5, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur, and many more.
