When it hides in a reef and it has lots of teeth . . . that's a moray! Weedy sea dragons dance, red-eared slider turtles flutter, poison dart frogs trill and curl-crested aracaris slap bills to attract mates. Love is in the air and underwater during “That’s A-Moray”. Throughout Valentine’s Day weekend, we’ll provide guests with a romance-themed “I Spy” challenge, animal courtship facts, oversized animal pun Valentine’s Day cards, a heart-shaped photo op and a little mood music in the galleries. “It’s a great date or family outing,” says Aquarium General Manager Stephanie White. “You can escape the wintry weather and spend time with the animals you adore and the people you love.”
With limited capacity for social distancing, the Aquarium has extended Friday and Saturday hours as “date nights” and will stay open until 7pm.
Aquarium fans are also encouraged to enter the Splash of Romance Giveaway (now – February 14) for a chance to win the makings of many memorable dates with a prize package valued at more than $900.
