The Sixth Annual Blazing Paddles Paddlefest is a paddling celebration of Cleveland’s Cuyahoga River. In partnership with the Cuyahoga River Safety Task Force, Cuyahoga River industrial stakeholders, partner organizations, Share the River is providing the public with two opportunities for the public to explore and enjoy Cleveland’s scenic and historic Cuyahoga River for industrial-strength fun. 1) the Dave Vasarhelyi Memorial Recreational Paddle (up to 12.2 miles) or 2) one of three races (3.75, 6.1 and 12.2 miles) Sunday morning is also our Pre-Paddle and After-Paddle Expo presented by Bedrock with Cleveland waterfront stakeholders (beverage and food available for purchase at Merwin’s Wharf). Blazing Paddles Paddlefest is Ohio’s 2nd largest paddlefest and this year it will serve as an on-the-water farewell salute to the Eagle Ave. Bridge (Cleveland's first lift bridge (1931)) that will be disassembled over the upcoming winter. Eagle Ave Bridge is part of the unsourced factoid "Within one mile of the Center Street Swing Bridge Cleveland has more bridge designs than any other place in the world."
